In the U.S, more than 25% of the population have experienced a major depressive episode or other mental health crisis in their life. New England stoicism expects us to “be strong” and “self- sufficient” pushing that pain deep inside. At one point or another, we are all the victims of problematic thinking and struggle to maintain balance in life. You don’t need a pervasive mental illness or diagnosis to benefit from counseling. If you’re tired of feeling stuck, let’s change that.
My goal is for my clients to find camaraderie to work through life's challenges. I do not sit as an expert handing down edicts on how to live life, I don't pretend to know you better than you know yourself. I see my role as someone who helps you figure out what is truly bothering you, and collaborate to find solutions.
Whether you are seeking counseling at the urging of someone in your life, or your search is self motivated, I understand that this process is awkward and difficult. The most important factor in the process is for you to feel comfortable.
If this sounds like you, or you want to give this a shot, contact me. If it’s not a fit, the first meeting is on me.
